Legal Fees and Disbursements

Legal Fees are what your Notary charge as their fee to prepare your closing documentation. For a typical sale with a mortgage to discharge in Vancouver and environs expect to pay approximately $500.00 to $800.00 for Legal Fees and Disbursements.

For example my services would be as follows:

  1. To review the fully executed Contract of Purchase and Sale you or your realtor have provided to me;
  2. To search title;
  3. To identify and confirm with you the charges that are your responsibility to discharge;
  4. To request payout statements from the identified Lenders;
  5. To review payout statements upon receipt from the Lenders;
  6. To receive, review, and revise as necessary, the sale documents from the Buyer's legal representative;
  7. To prepare supporting documents;
  8. To attend to or arrange for execution of sale and supporting documents;
  9. To negotiate appropriate closing undertakings with solicitor/notary for Buyer;
  10. To receive and account for trust funds;
  11. To provide your Lenders with payout proceeds and discharge forms;
  12. To disburse trust funds;
  13. To register discharges received from the Lenders;
  14. To report.
